Tall Ship Sydney Harbour Cruise is sailing with a difference! Take a trip back in time and cruise Sydney Harbour in comfort and authentic tall ship sailing style. See some of Sydney's finest attractions and enjoy a BBQ lunch. Your harbour cruise will see the hours simply sail away!

The tall ship is a magnificent square rigger built in 1922 that has three masts reaching over 24m high. This experience can be as interactive as you wish. If you’d like to heave on a rope and help set the sails, you can. Otherwise you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the entertainment provided by the crew, chef and the barman, all of whom are at your service.

The ship departs from the Sydney CBD and sails past many of Sydney Harbour’s best attractions. Cruise on past Sydney’s iconic landmarks - the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Fort Denison, Garden Island, Taronga Zoo, Luna Park and Admiralty House. We cruise up to Watsons Bay and return back to the harbour under sail.

For lunch on board the tall ship you will enjoy an Aussie BBQ including King Prawns. To keep your experience aboard our working Tall Ships as authentic as possible, meals are served buffet style with informal bench seating available.

The vessel served as flagship of the Bicentennial First Fleet reenactment voyage from Plymouth, England in 1988 and is now the last of these heroic ships to remain on Sydney Harbour. 200 years ago, a timber sailing ship was the only way to discover Sydney Harbour. And it still is!

For those of you who are looking for some extra fun, selected Sundays and school holidays feature a special family pirate-themed event!

Activity Highlights:

  • Photo opportunities of the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Taronga Zoo and Luna Park
  • Learn about the history of Sydney Harbour and viewing from a waterfront perspective.
  • Be part of the crew and help set the sails
  • Opportunity to help the captain steer the ship (great photos!)

What's Included:

  • 2 hours sailing Experience on a 1850’s style authentic Tall Ship
  • Discover Sydney harbour in style!
  • BBQ Lunch including King Prawns.
  • Hands on sailing or simply sit back and relax

What a lovely day... the crew were very friendly and made it even more pleasant. There was plenty of food and it was of a good standard. It was interesting to be on an old sailing ship, to read about its history and to watch the sails being set. The only improvement we could think of was that we would have loved a coffee after the meal. Overall we would rate this as a 9/10 experience and definitely recommend it to friends.

Perfect way to spend an afternoon on Sydney Harbour. The sun shone and the whole harbour was alive and full of colour. The crew were great, lunch was pretty good and we really enjoyed ourselves. The only downside, it was a bit of a crush, I think there were more than 90 people. Also the boarding and checking off the passengers was a bit haphazard,

I went with my brother and his wife and we had a wonderful time together. The crew were very friendly and knowledgeable as well as being efficient with the sails etc. My sister-in-law had fun pulling on the ropes to raise the sails while we two old foggies cheered her on from the side-lines. We would have liked a bit of a running commentary just to explain who lived in some of the Mansions along the shore line eg Government House etc The captain was very friendly and the steer master and the girl checking the bookings. Some of the young blokes need to be a bit more friendly and smile occassionly. But it was very enjoyable day...

The weather was dreadful but we still had a great day. The ship was very steady and safe and really interesting. Jess, our hostess, was courteous and professional and made sure that all our needs (staying dry, etc.) were covered. Lunch was very nice and there was plenty of food for all. We are planning to book another Tall Ship cruise in the future and hope to pick a sunny day next time.

It was not the brightest of days to go out on the Harbour. Imagine grey skies, rain falling and wet feet. This did not deter any of the 'would be' sailors and we trooped on board. The crew provided the sunshine in the day as they did all to make our trip enjoyable. Crew, food and company were all great. A fantastic experience!

I chose this BBQ lunch on the Southern Swan as a shared family Christmas present. Seeing that our children are now in their twenties and all very busy it was a great opportunity to spend time together doing something special that we would all remember. I wasn't disappointed.. We all had a lovely afternoon. There was plenty of well cooked and tasty food and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating.
