Learn to sail on NSW' gorgeous Sydney Harbour. On everyone's 'must do' list, sailing is a beautiful, exciting sport that lets you truly experience your magnificent surrounds. Spend three hours experiencing the thrill of steering the race-tuned yachts - learn the basics and be at one with the waves.

The aim of this short course is to introduce newcomers to the wonderful sport of sailing in a safe, controlled way.

The lesson begins with a short crew briefing. Then you get the sails hoisted and head out towards Sydney heads. By the end of the lesson you will have experienced basic crew work, as well as helming on different points of sail.

Enjoy refreshments in the waterside bar or café at Middle Harbour Yacht Club after hours on the harbour - it's a way of life you'll have to get used to!

This experience voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

This experience is 3 hours, available most Saturdays from 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm.

Guidelines:

Moderate fitness is required! The only other requirement is a minimum age of 18

Numbers:

There will be a maximum of 9 people in your learning group.

Spectators:

Friends, family and spectators can watch comfortably from the Yacht Club's waterside cafe.

Weather:

We operate rain or shine - you're a sailor now! We can provide rainwear if necessary. We'll let you know if the weather is too rough to sail.

    Really enjoyed the experience. The team at RedBalloon were very friendly and helpful especially as I had to extend the deadline to take up the experience due to personal circumstances. The people were very informative and friendly and I am looking forward to undergoing a further sailing training course with them. I also am likely to use RedBalloon for gifts to friends.

    Great mornings sailing on a typically nice Sydney summer day with a light nor'east breeze. Great view of the bridge, opera house and shark island, all in one photo, pitty I forgot the SD card for the camera. Did have the phone camera. sol I'll have to do it all over again - gladly.

    I had the best day sailing and it was so much better than I had expected. The crew for our sailing day are the best two instructors and made the day a fantastic experience. I am already planning my next day out with some more friends.
