This is your chance to indulge in the very best of food and wine while spending a relaxing day in the Yarra Valley, just outside of Melbourne. You and your partner will begin your day with a wine tasting, relax with a spectacular three-course lunch and conclude with a bottle of wine to take home.

This experience is the ultimate two-in-one, the perfect combination of wine tasting and a decadent restaurant lunch as you relax in the surroundings of our renowned restaurant and winery.
Upon arrival you will enjoy a wine tasting in the magnificent cellar. Renowned for their wines, they are currently producing magnificent wines from 20-year-old vines.
Enjoy a guided wine tasting in the unique cellar door, were you will taste a selection of Helens Hill Wines. After 15-30 minute wine tasting you will wander up to the restaurant which is located on top of the hill. You will be able to relax and take in stunning view of the Yarra Valley while you enjoy your three-course meal, which is accompanied by a bottle of wine.
The menu is subject to change, although you can expect meals along the lines of
- Thai Calamari – Scored curls of calamari, fried and tossed with a lemongrass and sweet chilli sauce, served on a tat soi leaf salad
- Seafood Terrine – A warm salmon, Morton Bay bug meat and scallop terrine served with
a German potato salad, herbed cream fraiche, parsley pesto and crisp sour dough croutons
- Chocolate Trifle- Chocolate and pomegranate trifle served with praline flecked
crème fraiche and pomegranate sauce
Take your time to relax and fully enjoy your meal. The finer things in life should not be rushed. When you finish your meal you will be totally satisfied after being swept away with the spectacular taste sensation that all good food should provide. However your experience is not over yet. On conclusion of your dining experience you will be presented with a bottle of wine to take home.

Coldstream, Victoria – approximately 45 minutes drive east of the Melbourne CBD.
Session Length
This experience is available from Thursday to Saturday and seven days a week in December only. We are closed from December 24 through to January 4. Bookings are essential and must be made one or more weeks in advance. Lunch bookings are available from 12noon and may conclude as late as 4pm.
Guidelines:
You will need to be 18 years of age or over to be eligible for this experience. There is strictly NO BYO as we are a fully licensed restaurant.

The price quoted is for two people. There will be others dining in the restaurant when you are there.

There were many couples who were enjoying the great experience when a couple of large families arrived with many extremely noisey children who spoilt the experience. Other couples ate and left very quickly and did not appear very impressed. The food was delicious and really not targeted to young children.

The gardens and atmosphere are stunning and it was this aspect that made the stay so enjoyable. Very relaxing to buy from the cellar and walk around the gardens with glass if wine in hand finding a shaded area to enjoy the views. Accommodation was basic but comfortable, look out for the single mattresses pushed together to make a king, not the most comfortable of arrangements. Food fantastic, service relaxed.

We have travelled the world extensively, experienced The Orient Express from London to Venice and many other first class travel experiences and this restaurant/winery/location is sensational. We spoke to friends last night re our experience and we will also be taking my brother when he visits in March. We will also consider it as a suggested loc...The location, the staff, the food and the personnel in the Cellar Door tasting area before lunch were all exceptional. I didn't know this "gem" existed. We received this RedBalloon gift certificate from our son and his wife as a thankyou. Organising dates and times was a breeze, no hassle. We arrived and enjoyed wine tasting and then sat down to a lovely meal. We were seated at probably the best table and was waited upon like royality, and just to top it off we were sent home with a couple of bottles of wine. Well done Vines Restaurant and RedBalloon.

We had our wine tasting which was great so great we came away with 2 dozen wines,we then went to the restaurant where we were seated at a table with the most amazing view we were given a bottle of wine which was great, we then ordered our choices from the most amazing menu of course we shared everything and I have to the food was amazing!!!!!!!! I would recommend this experience to anyone that ...This experience was given to my husband and I from our daughters and I have to say it was fantastic. The Winery was an experience you would recommend to anyone. Easy to find and easy access. A polite phone call the day before from them with last minute details was helpful. The Wine cellar tasting was great with lots of information available with the owner! ( who also works on the property.) The wine was good quality and enjoyable .The restaurant was first class, service impeccable and the food to die for! We will go again.

We had a wonderful time. The venue was excellent, having the best view over the estate. Tasting the wine was a treat with great conversation and lovely wine at reasonable prices. When enjoying our lunch the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and well presented with the use of local produce. We were given a choice of 2 bottles of wine, one with our meal and one to take home. We would highly recommend this RedBalloon experience.
