This chocolate-making workshop is all about chocolate-making in a dream setting. You'll make gorgeous hand-made chocolates in a fully equipped commercial Melbourne kitchen. Under the guidance of a professional chocolatier, you'll be preparing ganache filling, chocolate curls, and more!
Professional foodies and chocoholics alike will simply love this beginners’ chocolate-making workshop. To begin with, a professional chocolatier will talk you through the process of turning cocoa beans into a block of chocolate and give you some tasty information on the history of chocolate. Then you’ll be ready to temper the chocolate and turn it into chocolaty delights!
Correct tempering of chocolate is the key to perfectly-made delicacies. During the workshop you will work with only the highest-quality Belgian couverture chocolate, which averages over 64% cocoa. You’ll make ganache filling, choose your own flavouring, and pour into moulds that are the same as those used by the world’s top chocolatiers! You will also get to call on your creative side when making little curls and other decorations for your chocolates.
Throughout the four-hour class you’ll make a variety of chocolates and decorations – all of which you’ll get to take home with you afterwards! Everything is done to the highest professional standard and the atmosphere is all about fun.
One of the best things about this class is the size. With no more than 9 participants in the group you will all work together and receive all of the attention you need in order to bring out your innermost chocolaty creative flair!
This course is ideal for the chocolate-lover who wants to learn about the intricacies of chocolate appreciation and learn how to make goodies for themselves, or as gifts for others. Any professional cook or patisserie chef who wants to hone their skills in chocolate-making will also benefit greatly from this workshop. Whatever your motivation, you will walk away from this workshop knowing all about the full potential of chocolate and with a box full of chocolaty treats. This experience takes place on selected Monday, Thursday & Friday evenings from 6 - 10 pm and on selected Saturdays from 2 pm – 6 pm. Bookings are essential and are subject to availability.

Our chocolate-making workshop is best suited for people who are 14 years of age or older. However children as young as 12 years are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult.

I know they would have been covered in chocolate, but I would have remembered more! The gift boxed selection of chocolates we made to bring home were delightful. Great experience. Thorough preparation for a very well organised , enthusiastically presented range of activities which were engaging, challenging and fun. Small group size enabled Sylvia to provide individual and courteous attention when necessary. follow-up notes were well presented and useful. No time was wasted, but no-one was rushed. Refreshments were yummy as were the individual and group-shared chocolates we got to take home. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you.

James and Sylvia ran a fantastic afternoon, with a perfect mix of theory, education and hands on skill work. The results were far greater than I expected, being a beginner's class, and I has left me extremely enthusiastic about pursuing further chocolate activities.

Well worth the 2 hour drive each way to attend the workshop. I learnt so much and will now think twice about what chocolate I eat, but not in a hurry to eat the fruits of our labour.

I don't have anything negative to say about the experience I really did enjoy the afternoon. I did not know how complicated and expensive it was to make real chocolates. I now unterstand why individual specialty chocolates are expensive. Thanks for the journey.

This was one of the best things I have done in a long time. I have done loads of "chocolate" related experiences. This one topped them all. The instructor/chef was amazing. I cannot believe what I went home with. More than I could have ever imagined I could achieve. I will be doing follow-up courses in the near future. Highly recommend it.

It was fantastic. The presenter was fabulous, he was so knowledgeable and made it so much fun. He made it so easy for us all to get a great result with our chocolates. We couldn't believe how many of the chocolates we got to take home! I highly recommend this workshop.

Fantastic fun. Friendly and fun environment and the chocolate was divine! If you do not like getting covered in chocolate, I would not recommend the class. It gets extremely messy! But that's all part of the fun really!

AMAZING time, delicious chocolate, left with at least 30 individual variety chocolates that we made as a group, testers, hot chocolate half time break.. learnt a lot about different types of chocolate, where and how its made- awesome experience, great gift!

I was given a voucher for my birthday last year and finally got around to finding a Saturday that I was available and there was a vacancy in the class. After spending 4 fabulous hours last Saturday I wish I had done the course earlier. James was fantastic, and the chocolates that we came away look very professional in their gift boxes and ribbon.
